Fractionation

Fractionation is the final dry sieving process. Fractionation involves dividing powder flow into different fractions using different screens.

Making a choice between supply capacity and time on the different screens ultimately leads to an optimal quality product. Once again, the sieve surface area is key when it comes to the maximum capacity that a machine can handle in order to achieve the best possible quality.

As long as there is sufficient sieve surface, the capacity is always guaranteed. However, the available sieve surface area can never be infinite, so an application with high capacity (or fine mesh size) will soon require more than one machine. AMKCO has developed the so-called AS-frame , whereby an (existing) (AMKCO) vibratory separator can be equipped with a second screen above the existing screen deck without it being necessary to change the contours of the machine. In many cases, this leads to a doubling of the capacity of the vibratory separator.
